Design Inspiration

Officer Roma draws from the unregulated officer’s watches of the 1930s — timepieces that officers purchased privately, outside official military procurement. These watches carried the discipline and legibility of military design, but with a refined touch that reflected personal taste. The Roma is named for the Italian officer class that championed this style: sector dials, two-tone finishes, and a restrained elegance that stood somewhere between regulation and individuality.

Dial Craft: The Two-Tone Sector

The dial is a two-tone sector design. The inner zone is finished in warm ivory; the outer sector ring is rendered in a soft light grey, separated by a thin rehaute line. This is not a single-color dial with a printed track — it is two distinct surfaces with two distinct finishes, giving the dial genuine depth and dimension. The tonal contrast is subtle: visible at arm’s length, striking up close. Slim baton indices replace numerals entirely, letting the sector geometry and two-tone finish do the talking.

Movement

Powered by the Miyota 1L45 quartz movement in a two-hand-plus-subsidiary-seconds layout — hours and minutes on the main dial, with a small running seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock. The 1L45 is a jump-second quartz: one tick per second, ±20 sec/month, battery life of 3 years. No winding, no servicing, no surprises.

Case

316L stainless steel, 36mm diameter, fully brushed finish. Double-domed K1 crystal with double-sided coating — anti-reflective on the inside, scratch-resistant on the outside. Push-pull crown, 50m water resistance.

Strap

18mm black nylon NATO or leather strap with brushed stainless hardware.
