Design Inspiration

SD-1930 looks back to the sector dial — a design language that defined the golden age of wristwatch design in the 1930s. The dial is divided into concentric zones: an inner dial for the hour track and an outer ring for the minute track, separated by a rehaute line. It is a composition of geometry and restraint. Three numerals — 12, 3, and 9 — anchor the dial; the remaining positions are marked by slim applied indices. The result is a face that feels architectural: structured, layered, and quietly confident.

Dial Craft

The sector dial is finished in a warm cream tone with a fine radial brushing that radiates from the center outward. This brushing is not decorative — it is structural, defining the two zones visually even before the rehaute line draws the boundary. The inner zone carries the hour numerals; the outer zone carries the printed minute track. Light moves across the dial in concentric rings, giving the cream surface a living, shifting depth that a flat paint job cannot replicate.

The Three-Numeral Layout

Most dials show twelve numerals or none. The SD-1930 shows three — 12, 3, and 9 — the cardinal points of timekeeping. This is not minimalism for its own sake. It is the layout that 1930s designers arrived at after decades of experimentation: enough numerals to orient, few enough to breathe. The remaining positions are marked by slim baton indices, giving the dial an airy, architectural quality.

Lume

C3 Super-LumiNova on hands and the cardinal indices. Subtle in daylight, green and glowing in darkness.

Movement

Powered by the Miyota 1L45 quartz movement in a Small Seconds layout — hours and minutes on the main dial, with a small running seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock. The 1L45 is a jump-second quartz: one tick per second, ±20 sec/month, battery life of 3 years. No winding, no servicing, no surprises. The sub-dial at 6 o’clock mirrors the sector layout’s geometric balance, anchoring the lower half of the dial.

Case

316L stainless steel, 36mm diameter, fully brushed finish. Box-style K1 crystal with double-sided coating — anti-reflective on the inside, scratch-resistant on the outside. Push-pull crown, screw-down caseback, 50m water resistance.

Strap

18mm black nylon NATO or leather strap with brushed stainless hardware.
